Quick Story Line

This film is good really only in concept. I think the story would have been better served if it was R-rated, or even if they’d chosen to actually show anything remotely scary. The 1999 film still creeps me out to this day. This one just teases with its plot and sexual undertones.

Almost unwatchable The Mummy is boring and predictable. A strong and charismatic performance by Tom Cruise where his on-screen chemistry with Sofia Boutella’s Ahmanet was electrifying to the point of nearly erotic. Unfortunately, Annabelle Wallis’ character; Jenny Halsey came off as a dumb, blonde cliche. Watchable and likable supporting performance by Courtney B. Vance, but Jake Johnson’s performance was comical for all the wrong reasons. While the role of the true villain cast by Russell Crowe was a surprising turn there was little the veteran actor could do with such a stinker of a script.
